Scrappy Court House

This is a scrappy court house steps quilt.  The blocks are 12 inches finished.  The center is a 5 inch charm and the strips are about 1.5 inches.  The fabric came from my scrap basket because it was getting too big and I needed to make a dent in it.  The back is pieced from the left over scraps from the front of this quilt.

The quilting was done on a home sewing machine.  I used a walking foot.  I started from the center of the quilt and quilted a spiraling square until I reached the outside of the quilt.  The lines are quilted at 1 inch apart.

Duffle Bag

Good Morning,
For some time now, I have wanted a new duffel bag because my old one has become worn and is ready for the garbage. I searched the Internet and I came across some patterns.  Most of the patterns were hard to understand and didn't have any pictures to help guide you.  Finally, I gave up the Internet search for free patterns.  I then came across a google entry for simplicity pattern 2600.  I searched around the Internet and the price was about $12.00 for the pattern, plus shipping/handling.  This was way too much.  So I tried my luck at the local Hancock Fabric Store.  I found this very pattern for $1.00! Yes, I couldn't believe it either.  So I now have the perfect pattern for a duffel bag.  I've already made one and I'm about to start on my second one.  Anyone looking for a duffel bag pattern, this one will truly satisfy.
